Readers Needed for PISD Community-School Reading Program
Prosper ISD is launching a new reading program called Eagle Readers. These guest readers will be made up of community members who will read to students in Kindergarten and First Grade. The Eagle Readers program will take place at all three PISD elementary schools during the week of February 16-20 in honor of “Love Your Library Month.” The purpose of the program is for students to understand the importance of reading in everyday life through learning about fellow members of their community and how reading impacts what they do. To receive an Eagle Readers application, Criminal History Records Information Form, or for additional information, please contact Cindy Toops, Instructional Support Sec. for PISD at 972-346-9200 ext. 13101 or via e-mail at CMToops@prosper-isd.net. An Eagle Readers’ Tips for Reading training class will be held on Thursday, Feb. 12th @ 9am or 6pm at Folsom Elementary School. The Eagle Readers program will also take place during 1/5/2009 Odyssey of the Mind ODYSSEY OF THE MIND It is that time again...time for Odyssey of the Mind! What is Odyssey of the Mind? It is an incredible adventure in the form of creative problem solving that truly challenges you to look at things different than the norm and create amazing things from ordinary resources. Prosper ISD students have a fantastic history of excelling in this program and encourage others to come along on the journey. We are currently forming teams in four different age divisions. There are forms in the front office of each school if you are interested in trying Odyssey of the Mind this year. If you want more information or have any questions, please visit the OM website at
